the Network
There are over 350 organizations in our provincial database. We regularly mail our ProvincePak to our members with information about OYPA, and information from other member organizations.

We have divided up the province into six regions: Erie, St. Lawrence, Huron, GTA, Upper Superior and Lower Superior. We aim to equitably service and connect with all areas in the province.

Members are able to access our MatchList, an electronic record of projects created by and for young people. This way, groups and individuals can share information with each other from different ends of the province!

Keepin' it R.E.A.L. Projects

How does OYPA keep it real? We know that in order for our work to be successful, it needs to be R.E.A.L.:

Relevant. Our project deal with the lives of the young people involved
Effective. Our project serves to improve the lives of the people involved.
Activist. Our project promotes action.
Local. Our project is community based.

We continue to create experiences that matter and contribute to self-empowerment of young people. Check out the Keepin' it R.E.A.L. section of this site for more details.

the Germinatrix Project

Sometimes, the only thing we need in our community work is a helping hand. Through the Germinatrix Project, OYPA supports youth who require various skills to enhance their community initiatives. Some of our training topics include:

Workshop Facilitation
Workshop Development
Panel Moderation
Public Speaking
Event Planning
Conference Organizing
Project Visioning
Funding/Fundraising
Networking
Media Literacy
Political Literacy
Anti-Oppression
Building Healthy Communities
Zine-making
Community Creativity
and many more!

We also create workshops, learning circles, and group journeys to fit the desire and expectations of the groups working with us.

Coalition Initiatives

OYPA is a member of A Call to Freedom, a growing group of youth committed to anti-racism organizing within community organizations. We have also supported the youth fora developed by the St. Lawrence Forum and the coalition organizing Black Youth United: a post-UNWCAR conference on reparations.
