Ruckus is an annual conference and series of events hosted by Youth Action Network (YAN) which brings together high-school youth and youth of colour to critically examine multiculturalism, race and find avenues for inclusion into the social justice movement.
Our first RUCKUS event is on Saturday September 16th at the Canadian Native Centre (16 Spadian Rd) from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. This is an opportunity to show-case and celebrate youth talent including theatre, music, dance, etc. There is still room for youth performers. So Contact Us!
The Ruckus conference will be held in September (22nd and 23rd) at New College, University of Toronto (40 Willcocks St) from 9-4. This event is free to all high-school students and youth. Lunch is provided and travel can be reimbursed. Please register at our website. |

Summer program…
The Euphoric Youth Education Summer Enrichment Program offers students four class choices that cover a variety of subject matters. This program\'s goal and / or motivation is to create a virtual / electronic summer camp. Euphoric Youth Education classes are open to highly motivated upper middle school students through undergraduates in college.
Current courses:
Peace and Protest. By
High School – College Undergraduates
Peace and Protest will deal with the exploration of various reformers and reform movements throughout the course of history, from a variety of diverse cultures and movements. Some topics to be covered include the fall of the USSR, The Stonewall Riots, and Nelson Mandela.
Youth Today. By High School – College Undergraduates
The main question this course will contemplate is… What role does youth play in our modern world? This course will attempt to build a definition and set groundwork to analyze how youths interact in everyday life… how youths affect and contribute to societies, politics and cultures worldwide.
Trading: Foreign Exchange Spot Markets. By
High School – College Undergraduates
Foreign Exchange currency trading allows the client to hedge against or speculate upon changes in the exchange rate of two currencies. In comparison to the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), where the daily volume averages $25-30 billion USD, the currency market\'s volume averages $1.9 trillion USD daily, making it the world\'s largest and most liquid market. This course will provide the fundamental tools to understand the mechanics of this market and trading in general, as well as how to use various types of analysis, begin trading your own account, and explore further.
Creative Writing Workshop. By
High School – College Undergraduates
This creative writing workshop aims to expand our perspective to include many aspects of literature that are forgotten. Through activities with lateral thinking, sensory detail, dialogue tags and characterization this course aims to strengthen the writing of creative short stories and essays.

Third Annual First Nations Youth Symposium |

This symposium allows First Nations youth to come together for a three day conference to speak and participate in workshops that will identify some of the issues they face under chosen topic areas. In the past the topics have been economic development, social development and this years theme will focused on First Nations education. However this conference will only be open to youth that are members of a First Nation and between the ages of 16-29. Sorry for any exclusion.
